Three to four year old’s love physical activity and anything involving play. They have a rich imagination and strong desire to be less dependent on their usual caregivers. The problem we discovered is that many children this age have a hard time with structure in a group environment.
The solution we found is to provide them with their own program that targets their stage of development in a manner that is fun while at the same time building skills that set them up for success.
By understanding the stages of development of 3 & 4 year old’s, we were able to come up with a very unique program designed to be fun & at the same time to start them on the road to learning life skills like Confidence, Discipline, Respect, teamwork and more.
Kids have a great time learning to stand in line, follow directions, be polite, help others, share & more. Yes we are really teaching the fundamentals of social skills. Plus they learn that working out can be FUN. Working out and doing what they are told is part of our core values on learning to be Happy & Successful in life. Kids will learn & earn badges and will beg you to come to our classes so they can earn and learn more!
Absolutely, we believe that once your child has tried our classes both you & your child will see the benefits that we can instill in all our kids.
Our programs fit into almost any schedule. We have students who are successful in our program at only one day a week, and we have students who love classes so much that they beg their parents to bring them every time we're open.
Actually, no. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but the reality is that because our Martial Arts Program teaches kids that they can control their own actions and take control of their emotions. So they're willing to listen and apply the Character Development portions (patience, control, thinking before acting, etc). It really does work. Our students don't WANT to use their Martial Arts moves outside of the class, because they learn other ways to solve their problems.
We see that day in and day out, it can certainly be a challenge, and *It's our job* to help your child learn to overcome their fears. When your child starts to trust that we're going to help her/him regardless of being shy she/he, they will open up and it'll start a chain reaction of confidence building that'll drop your jaw.
We know because....we do it everyday!
Just like our physical curriculum works to improve your child's fitness, flexibility and strength, our Character Development curriculum improves your child's Life Skills. We have a curriculum that rotates through really important subjects like Respect, Discipline, Focus, Patience, Acceptance, Kindness, Compassion and more. It's really cool, and all of our instructors feel lucky everyday to be able to pass these skills on to a younger generation.
Safety is always our number one priority. Although you risk injury anytime you choose to get out of bed, in our experience, we see far fewer injuries in our classes than in other kids activities (baseball, softball, football, etc). It's actually frustrating, because we occasionally get calls from parents that their child can't come to class because they hurt themselves in a different activity.
The classes are a great workout while keeping at the kids' skill levels. The instructors work hard to keep the children engaged and it shows. I've seen definite improvement in my son since he's been attending Eatontown Martial arts!
My son is 8 and has been studying with Master Des Jardin for just under a year. In addition to the confidence boost and increase in self control I've seen in my son, observing the class has given me parenting tips that I use all the time as well. Any school can teach form. But THIS school teaches discipline for kids and parents alike. Highly recommend Eatontown Martial Arts.
I can't say enough great things....this program builds confidence, physical and mental strength, respect, and friendships. The kids have to earn their belts and put hard work in. Great world lessons. My son loves Eatontown Martial Arts!
